In use
Loading bikes onto the upper levels is simple; the upper tier pulls out on smooth runners and tilts down towards the floor. The front wheel of the bike is fed onto the channel until the wheels are held in place by cutouts in the tray. The reinforced steel locking points are conveniently placed to allow the bike to be locked to the frame and wheels. A gas spring assisted mechanism makes light work of raising the tray before pushing it forward into place.

We recommend a ceiling height of 2750mm to accommodate the widest range of cycles, or an absolute minimum of 2600mm. Overhead services such as lighting, trunking and pipes must be considered during design and layout. 2500mm of access space is required for full London Cycle Design Standards compliance. We recommend a minimum of 1800mm access space or loading clearance in front of the racking. Access space can be shared by opposing racks.

Yes, the SecurePro Two Tier Rack is equipped with gas spring assisted lifting on the upper tier. The gas spring is balanced to support a 15kg bike, so minimal effort from the user is required. Two tier racking products without gas assist require the user to lift the entire weight of the bike, rendering them difficult to use and inaccessible to a high proportion of users. We would advise against the purchase and installation of two tier racking that does not have gas-assist.[
