We are over the moon to announce that ‘The Lambeth Bikehangar’ reached the finals of the New London Architecture Awards despite being one of hundreds of schemes that were entered into the category of Transport and Infrastructure.
The category of ‘transport and Infrastructure’ covers any project that improves the experience of moving around the City and adds to the quality of the environment. Being recognised within this category is a fantastic achievement. The awards overall recognise the very best in new architecture, planning and development across the capital and the competition was incredibly tough.
We submitted a joint proposal with Lambeth Council who originally commissioned the Bikehangar, working closely with us ever since the first installation in March 2013.
Eric Duval, Lambeth Council said “It’s great to have collaboratively invented something that helps existing cyclists and supports people to cycle if they so wish. We are very proud for it to be named the Lambeth Bikehangar.”
The Lambeth Bikehangar offers a unique solution to cycle storage as they are installed on local roads and allow residents to register online to rent a space from only £30 a year and a £20 refundable key deposit. They are designed to for those residents who don’t have access to back gardens or suitable indoor space.
