Overview
We are looking for a proactive and analytical Management Accountant who is keen to support and work closely with all parts of our growing business. You will have great attention to detail and strong communication skills. It’s a plus if you have an interest in cycling or active travel and a desire to get more people travelling by bike.
Salary: £45k
Main responsibilities of Financial Controller:
- Manage AR & AP functions: Ensure ledgers are kept up to date and ageing is reviewed regularly. Proactively assist and support Accounts Assistant with customer/vendor queries and credit control.
- Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare monthly accounts up to final trial balance, including journal postings and ensuring the timely completion and review of all balance sheet
reconciliations. - Cash Flow & Treasury: Prepare and review payment runs. Manage limits on Pleo and credit cards. Administer placement of surplus cash into short-term deposits as guided by FC/CFO.
- Compliance: Prepare quarterly VAT and CIS returns ensuring full compliance, including postponed VAT (PVA).
- Business Partnering: Support other departments to ensure compliance with business processes and procedures are understood and followed, proposing changes where appropriate to help drive continuous improvements.
- Ad hoc duties: Support the Finance Team as required, including providing holiday cover for Financial Controller and Accounts Assistant
Qualifications and skills:
- Part-qualified accountant and/or a number of years of relevant work experience, able to demonstrate solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all parts of the business.
- Strong Excel knowledge, including data analysis functions like pivots, lookups, filters, etc.
- ERP system experience, ideally NetSuite.
- Exposure to manufacturing industry is preferred.
