Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Financial Controller with excellent communication skills and solid systems experience. You will be leading a small team and must be able to work flexibly and effectively with all parts of our growing business. The role includes oversight of Business Systems & IT as well as HR & Payroll. It’s a plus if you have an interest in cycling or active travel and a desire to get more people travelling by bike.
Salary: £75k
Main responsibilities of Financial Controller:
- Financial Reporting & Control: Manage month-end/year-end processes, prepare/review monthly management reporting, maintain an efficient and effective working environment by driving continuous improvements.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Develop annual budgets, forecast financial performance, prepare financial modelling and analyse variances, support budget holders in preparation and management of their budgets.
- Cash Flow & Treasury: Maintain tight control on working capital, oversee accounts payable/receivable and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with statutory laws, accounting and HMRC regulations, as well as audit requirements. Main liaison with external providers of related services.
- Strategic Support: Act as a business partner to the leadership and management teams, provide data-driven insights to guide commercial decisions.
- Business Systems & IT: Oversee all systems and infrastructure, including our ERP (NetSuite), liaise with different departments, act as key liaison with external support providers. Ensure all systems and related processes are fit for purpose through continuous improvements.
- HR & Payroll: Act as key liaison between the company and its external providers.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop our small team.
- Ad hoc duties: Support the CFO as required, including providing holiday cover for Management Accountant.
Qualifications and skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, QBE).
- Excellent communications skills at all levels.
- Robust problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel knowledge, including modelling.
- Solid ERP system experience, ideally NetSuite.
- Experience as a business partner to other departments.
- International/group experience beneficial.
