Did you see our Car Bike Ports and Bike Ports in Hackney on Car Free Day 2017?

World Car Free Day, a national event which happens on the 22nd of September each year. This important awareness day aims to help highlight the pollution of the world caused by car use and persuades us to leave the car at home and have a no car day.

Hackney Council, who are eager to become one of London’s most cycle friendly boroughs have hosted a plethora of events around cycling with this in mind, including the launch of the latest dockless bike sharing scheme by ofo. A fleet of bright yellow ofo bikes have just been introduced to Hackney for riders to easily get from A to B. Cyclehoop were pleased to be able to provide some eye-catching cycle parking for the event.

We love designing products that not only provide you with a place to park your bike, but that also send a direct message to promote cycling! This is why our iconic Car Bike Port is perfect for World Car Free Day, as it sends a message that one car space can provide cycle parking for 10 bicycles. The same goes for our latest product, the Bike Port, which promotes more space for cycling.

Cyclehoop installed one Car Bike Port on Bouverie Road and another in Hoxton Square. Our Bike Port is installed on Martello Street. Each unit was powder-coated bright yellow to match the bikes and add a splash of colour to the area.

ofo have hosted a range of events and activities on the day to launch their bikes, and for the entire weekend ofo representatives will be there to help visitors download the app, try the bikes, and relax in their mini garden.

Operations Manager, Brani Cujic says;

‘We’re delighted to be working with Cyclehoop and Hackney Council on World Car Free Day. It’s a great opportunity to encourage people to get cycling and to try an ofo, while also showcasing Cyclehoop’s innovative bike parking solutions.’
