We are delighted to announce that three of our feature products have achieved Sold Secure and Secured by Design!
Our iconic Cyclehoop HD has achieved Pedal Cycle Gold and our Wall Anchor HD and our Mini Wall Anchor HD have both achieved Pedal Cycle Silver. Paired with this, the three products are now Secured by Design, giving them a National Police stamp of approval. This is a proud achievement for the team here at Cyclehoop.
What is Sold Secure?
Sold Secure are an independent accreditation rating organisation based in the UK that test and certify products for security standards. Manufacturers can submit their locks to Sold Secure who will try to defeat them using a wide range of different tools and techniques. Find out more about Sold Secure here.
What is Secured by Design?
Secured by Design (SBD) is the title for a group of National Police projects. It is the only way for products to achieve police accreditation in the UK. They work with the industry and test houses to create high-level security standards, responding to trends in crime, and have given input on a number of key standards. The principles of the scheme have been proven to reduce the risk of crime and the fear of crime. Find out more about Secured by Design here.
What does this mean?
Our three products were taken to the Sold Secure testing house in Daventry and put through their paces. Their strength was tested through a series of attack methods and the results are based on the timeframe they were defeated in.
- Our Cyclehoop HD achieved Pedal Cycle Gold rating. This means that it provided resistance against a top-level tool list using these methods for over five minutes.
- Our Mini Wall Anchor HD and our Wall Anchor HD both achieved Pedal Cycle Silver Rating. This means that they provided resistance against an extensive tool list using the above methods for over three minutes.
This means that we can guarantee that these products are designed to industry and police approved security standards. It means that you can tell your insurance provider that you are using a Sold Secure rated product to lock your bicycle to. It also means that your chances of bike theft are lower because you are using a high-quality product, ultimately reducing the risk of crime.
