In March 2024, Ealing council reached a major milestone in active travel provision, with the installation of their 100th Bikehangar.
The latest phase of Bikehangar installations comes as part of a £10million package of investments to support walking, cycling and scooting in the borough.
Cyclehoop installed 63 units through 2023, adding to the inventory from the first phase of installations in 2015. Each new unit benefits from the Bikehangar 4.0 feature set, including our innovative fail-secure, angle grinder resistant lock interface, dual layer side panels and Sold Secure Powered Cycle Diamond security accreditation.

Beyond adding over 360 new secure cycle parking spaces, the Council is also committed to making them affordable. The subsidised annual tariff is set at just £8.40, making Bikehangar spaces in Ealing the cheapest in London. Crucially, this is just 1/6th of the price of a car parking permit; an important factor to help make cycling a fair and attractive choice versus private vehicle ownership.

Ealing are set to exceed their goal of 150 Bikehangars by 2026. Public consultation has been a key element in selecting locations for the new units. Residents in need of a space are invited to suggest new locations via an online portal.
