We are proud to announce that we have installed 97 bike lockers on housing estates across Southwark. The bike lockers will be fully managed by Cyclehoop, residents will be able to rent a space in one of the lockers for a small annual fee, using our online portal.
Most housing estates have a high density population and no available driveway or garage space to store bicycles. This lack of bike storage forces residents to store bicycles in hallways and walkways, which has been identified as a health and safety issue by blocking fire escapes. In response, Southwark council has provided residents with secure cycle parking.
The space efficient vertical bike lockers are conveniently installed next to each other, creating maximum cycle storage capacity without taking up valuable space. The bike lockers feature a newly designed hook for storing bicycles.
Prior to installation we carried out a site audit of all the estates to identify the most suitable location for the lockers. We provided Southwark council with a 3D visualisation for the residents’ approval and for the planning process.
The fully managed service that we provide takes the hassle out of maintaining lockers for local authorities. All available lockers are on our web portal and we manage the keys, deposits and user agreements, as well as carrying out services and repairs in the long term.
