As part of ATOC’s project to upgrade Cycle facilities at UK rail stations, they have produced the Cycle-Rail Toolkit, which is aimed at train operating companies to encourage them to embed Cycle-Rail provision firmly within their business objectives. The guide explains how train operators can provide for cyclists, increase the number of new cyclists and promote facilities to ensure maximum benefits are gained.
We are pleased to announce that our public bike pump, public bike repair stand and bike wall anchor has featured within the guide. By installing our products at rail stations train operators can not only encourage cycling but decrease the amount of abandoned bikes. The number one reason that bikes are abandoned is due to cyclists not having access to facilities to repair their bikes.
Cyclehoop attended the Association of Train Operating Companies’ (ATOC) Interchange and Integrated Transport Conference on the 27th September. The conference focused on publicising ATOC’S Cycle-Rail campaign, which aims to inspire rail passengers to take up cycling, by improving infrastructure and facilities at rail stations to make cycling safer and more efficient.
We hope that we will be contacted in the future when train operators upgrade rail station facilities.
