As the countdown to the ‘Big Start’ of Giro D’Italia 2014 in Belfast begins, Cyclehoop helps to build further excitement with custom made ‘Race for Pink’ Cyclehoops’.
Working with the Transport Minister in the Northern Ireland department for regional development and Sustrans, Cyclehoop provided over 170 hoops along part of the team time trial route. Ten of the hoops signify the bibs of the cyclists and match the corporate colours of the event.
The whole City seems to be getting into the spirit in the build up for the highly anticipated event. The Cyclehoops’ will provide additional secure cycle parking for cyclists spread across the Belfast, Carrickfergus, Castlereagh, Lisburn, Newtownabbey and North Down Council areas.
The Cyclehoop converts existing street furniture into secure cycle parking and is an ideal cycle parking solution where pavement space is limited.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy says “Cycling is a great way to boost health for people of all ages and it is vital that the right infrastructure is in place to enable this to happen. With the Giro d’Italia coming here next month, we must make the most of this wonderful opportunity to promote cycling and encourage more people to get on their bikes.”
